Crowded and had to pick your way thru the maze of people and tables. Buffet was stocked well with lots of meat and vegetable choices. Plenty of desserts to choose from also.
I haven’t tried the made-to-order menu yet, but the buffet is definitely worth it 🍽️😋! The quality is great and the value is excellent 💰✨. There are so many options to choose from, and I especially loved the variety of pies 🥧❤️. I even found a chocolate pie slice that reminded me of my granny’s — pure nostalgia! 🍫😍 The dining area is clean and inviting 🧼✨, and the staff are friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better 😊👍.
Great little hometown restaurant with lots of comfort food options. The food was really good. The service was outstanding. Everyone was really friendly and very prompt with refills. The location is very easy to find using Google Maps. It is close to Interstate 69 in Madisonville, Kentucky. The place is older but well kept and clean.
I used to eat at the Country Cupboard pretty often from 1988-1998, but then I changed jobs and didn't travel to Madisonville very much after that. I was in the area and decided to stop and see if it was still as good as I remember, and I was not disappointed! Still a large buffet full of wonderful food! I highly recommend it.
Stopped in, and I am glad I did. The food was amazing, and there is plenty to choose from. My server was amazing and very friendly. I highly recommend giving them a visit if you're hungry and looking for great southern cooking.
Made a trip up to Central City KY because a friend's wife had passed and on the way back I googled buffet restaurant and Country Cupboard was the closest so I proceeded to visit them. They were actually in Madisonville but only about 12 miles out of my way. The entrance was actually in the back of the building but the food bar was uniquely different. The had beef ribs, pork chops, hamburger steak, fried chicken, baked chicken and cooked beets, hominy, cooked carrots, broccoli and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy and a unique salad bar. The normal lettuce, tomato, carrots, onion and cheese but there were a couple very different and possibly specialty homemade pasta and fruit bowls, I enjoyed the different variety than I usually find on a buffet. There was ample parking, no wait and ample staff to accommodate every person desiring to eat a good meal. As I was paying, and the bill was less than 15 dollars, the receptionist said we do Thanksgiving meal every Sunday if you are near enough to visit us. They had some side rooms that looked like they were available to accommodate parties so if you are close to Country Cupboard, they will fix you a meal fit for royalty, give them a taste!
Yesterday was my first visit to the Country Cupboard, but it will certainly not be my last. The food was excellent and the service was world class. When I had trouble with the internet connection, Carmen and Christy went above and beyond the line of duty to get me online. Whenever I am in or near Madisonville, the Country Cupboard will always be my first choice for fine dining.
Nice buffet. Home style cooking with plenty of options. Super busy when we arrived around 1pm on a Sunday, but seated quickly. Fried pork chop was perfect. If you go away hungry, it's your own fault.
The service was friendly and the food is some good old country mom’s cooking. The green beans with ham and onions tasted just like my mom used to made them. Will definitely be back when we are in the area.
Hands down the best southern cooking ive had in years at a restaurant!! The porkchop was so good!!! Lawd have mercy!! Big back behavior!!! The mashed potatoes are whipped to perfection and the flavor and collard greens have a smokey Flavor!!! Ima need a nap immediately after this meal!! The owner comes and table touches and greeted us!! The waitress Beth was very sweet!! In my opinion this is worth an hour drive from Clarksville!!!!! 🍽️🍴🚘🚘
